Outstanding Progress for Our Junior Cricketers

Outstanding Progress for Our Junior Cricketers

Club Admin6 Feb - 12:11

Developing young talent, creating pathways, and giving players opportunities to progress into adult cricket in a supportive community club.

We are incredibly proud to share some fantastic news from our Junior section, highlighting both the dedication of our players and the outstanding work being carried out by our coaching team.

This season, eight of our junior players were selected to attend the MCC Hub trials, which are designed to identify and support talented cricketers from state schools. Representing the club were three players from our Under 13s and five from our Under 15s, an impressive achievement in itself.

Even more pleasing is the fact that all eight players successfully passed the trials and were invited onto the MCC Hub programme. They have now completed four of the ten scheduled training sessions, working with county-level coaches on Friday evenings, gaining invaluable experience in a high-performance environment.

Alongside their MCC Hub success, all eight players have also progressed through District trials, having already completed two of the three stages so far.

As a club, we are passionate about developing young talent and providing players with opportunities to progress into adult cricket when they are ready — opportunities they may not always receive elsewhere. Our focus is on long-term development, confidence, and preparing players both technically and mentally for the next stage of their cricket journey.

These achievements are a real credit to the commitment and attitude of the players, as well as to the tireless efforts of our junior coaches, whose dedication continues to create clear pathways from junior cricket into the adult game.

We wish all the boys the very best as they continue their MCC Hub and District journeys and look forward to following their progress over the coming weeks.
